On Tuesday, the 13th of October, Transition Year students had the opportunity to become more in touch with nature, as we spent the day orienteering in the nearby Donadea Forest. There we were split into groups, with each group given a map to help them find their way through the lush forest. We had to find certain codes hidden throughout the forest, and with everyone wanting to be the first to find all of the codes, there was a strong sense of competition amongst us. Although it became apparent that some of our map-reading and navigational skills need to be brushed up, we still really enjoyed the scenery and tranquillity of the forest. It was a unique experience far removed from that of a classroom, and was well worth the tired legs and wet feet. Here are a few photos that show some of the action:
